The Sheila Stanley Community Counseling Fund (SSCCF) began as the Community Counseling Fund in 1997 as a way to increase access to mental health counseling in our community. After the loss of a Womankind Counseling Center clinical psychologist who lost her battle with cancer in 2001, the fund was renamed to honor her.
The SSCCF provides a one-time grant to help cover the costs of individual, family, or group psychotherapy for people without insurance coverage or for people without mental healthcare benefits as part of their healthcare policy. The fund aims to be simple to access and help cover the gaps and inequities which exist for people trying to access mental healthcare. The SSCCF is open to New Hampshire residents who use a psychotherapy provider who has been accepted by the SSCCF.
If you are a provider or client who would like to access support, applications are open on a rolling basis according to current funding available. Please contact our office for information on how to apply.
Need has been increasing as the health insurance Marketplace costs have sky rocketed, thousands have lost Medicaid benefits, and corporations are taking over mental health centers while increasing costs to clients. Everyone deserves access to quality mental healthcare. The SSCCF is one of the ways that Womankind works to help support a healthy community for all of us. Your donations to the SSCCF go directly to helping people access care- Help us never have to turn away an applicant due to lack of funds.
